Hello everyone!
This is a somewhat random blog, but one that I wanted to do. I went to Fred Meyer last night to do some random grocery shopping and decided to look at the makeup while I was there. As I walked around I automatically noticed a product that looked almost exactly like the Too Faced Melted lip product. I ended up buying 2 (babydoll - pink, EOY - purple) right away. I wasn't sure what the quality was going to be, or if it would really be like the Too Faced lipstick when you actually put it on, but I was willing to give a try.
I got home and attempted to record a mini grocery haul and ended with a first impression of the glazed lip paint. The pigmentation and quality of this lip product is phenomenal! Seriously as good high end makeup, and for so much cheaper! The L.A. Girl product was $3.99 at Fred Meyer and the Too Faced Melted product is $21! That is a huge price difference, for nearly the same product. Too Faced does offer more colors, (they have 10 total, and L.A. Girl have 6 total). One difference is the actual applicator, the L.A. Girl has a plastic tip, and the Too Faced has a fuzzy tip. I loved it so much I went right back to the store and picked up 2 more colors (blushing - berry, Pin-up - red).
The scent of this product is peppermint, and it does start with a very glossy look. After a while they glossiness does go away, and it has a more matte finish - but the color pigmentation does stay. You can extend the glossy look by putting clear gloss on again. With that being said, if you are prone to dry lips/cracked lips this product is not going to look good, especially after it's dried down a bit. It also is not an "easy" product to work with. You can't just slather it on and go, it takes time and effort to get it on your lips properly. I would suggest using a liner of some sorts with this to help with applying. It can be a bit "goopy" so if you don't like that texture, I'd pass.
Overall I absolutely love this product, and I can't believe what a great find it is! I am so happy that I kept holding off on buying the Too Faced Melted lippies because in my opinion these are JUST as good, and so much more affordable.
