Today was my first cleanse day. I thought I would do a review on how the Cleanse for Life tastes, as well as include how I felt during the day.
The taste was not nearly as bad as I was expecting. I was seriously thinking it would taste disgusting based on what I'd heard, but I think it tastes better than the Ionix Supreme, (not that the Ionix Supreme tastes bad). The Cleanse for Life has a sweet berry flavor to it, and does have this "medicinal taste." I don't find it to be very bothersome though. I suppose it almost reminds me of a liquid form of Flintstones vitamins... Though it has been awhile since I've had that.
With that being said, I was so tired of the "sweet" taste that was left in my mouth - all the drinks, and snacks are sweet The taste stayed in my mouth even after I drank lots of water. I have decided that cleanse days are not for me. Due to this, I made the choice that on my cleanse days I would have the cleanse for breakfast and lunch, but I would eat a well balanced dinner. Followed by the last cleanse, (so I'm only skipping one serving of my cleanse and I'm adding ~273 calories to my day).
I had my go to dinner, 1/2 cup brown rice, 4 oz chicken with zucchini and mushrooms. I added sauteed spinach as well because veggies sounded extra tasty, and I had a lot of it. I was completely full and satisfied after dinner, and it lasted the rest of the night.
Overall I did have a feeling of hunger throughout the day before I ate my dinner, but I didn't mind that. It really was the taste that was left in my mouth, the sweetness that just wouldn't go away. We'll see how this affects my weight loss, (or lack thereof), but I'm thinking that even with this I will continue to see my weight go down. Lastly, I did want to mention that I tried having my cleanse for life with sparkling water to see if that helped at all, and it was just kind of meh. I think the biggest reason for that is the fact that it's meant to be mixed with 8 oz of water, and a standard sparkling water can is more than that, so it tastes watered down. I actually think I might try to mix some of the cleanse for life with the want more energy at least once tomorrow to see how it tastes. (As a note, I do not use the full packets of the want more energy for a serving, I sprinkle about 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon into my drinks.)
